About Me

When you make the decision to seek therapy you are tapping into your courage to find help for the part of you that’s ready for a change. Whether you have been in therapy before, or it is your first time, I can work with you to find the path of change that is right for you. I work best with clients who are motivated to change their lives and ready look beyond the stories we tell ourselves to discover new potential and the possibilities of who they can become. After decades of work in this field, I bring a wide variety of time-tested tools, techniques and experience to each session. As an experienced therapist, I see clients who are seeking therapy for a variety of reasons, including dealing with loss and grief, anxiety, depression, addiction, and complications from trauma and PTSD. I provide individual and couples counseling in Eugene Oregon.

Areas of Focus

While I work with a wide range of people and presenting problems, some of my most common topics of focus include:

  • ADHD
  • Anger Management
  • Anxiety
  • Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity
  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Depression
  • Grief and Loss
  • Life Transitions
  • Marriage & Family Therapy
  • Obsessive Compulsive Behaviors (OCD)

Modalities

My approach is holistic, eclectic and person-centered. I draw from somatic, humanistic, and existential theories depending on your needs and preferences. The individual counseling I do is heavily influenced by my training in:

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
• Gestalt Therapy
Parts Work informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Somatic Experiencing (SE)

Couples Counseling

I also enjoy working with couples as they explore ways of deepening their relationships or working on specific challenges.

Couples Counseling Modalities

For couples counseling it is often necessary to explore and resolve boundary, hierarchy and communication problems which can be challenging at times. To facilitate this process, I also incorporate techniques from John Gottman’s work, the Five Love Languages, and various other tools gathered over time.
